MAJ(R) Michael “Mike” H. Quinn, 90, passed away on 1 December 2020 in Dublin, OH.
Mike served with the 2nd Special Forces, the predecessor unit for the 11th Special Forces Group. His awards and decorations included Expert Infantry Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Ranger Tab, and Special Forces Tab.
Mike was an active member with the SFA Chapter 45, attending meetings as his health would allow him. Mike was instrumental in the chapter’s dedication of the Ohio Historical Marker established in 2018 for the tragic mid-air collision of two C-119s during an airborne operation in Wilmington, OH on 18 April 1964. The accident claimed the lives of 17 Airmen and SF troopers. Mike was a unit member and served on the accident’s investigative team.
Mike is survived by his wife Jeanne; brother Richard; 11 children; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Marble Cliff, Oh.
